The Rain Is Falling Here in Boston
I sit here reviewing all kinds of materials, stats, books, organizations and letters from abused women. Where do I begin? There is so much to read and study up on. I need to help so many. Why are so many women being abused physically and emotionally? I recently created my website and want to put out useful information everyday. I want to become one of the go-to’s for help and information. I want to educate and eradicate. I want to create a safe community. I want to provide resources and tell you where to find out about services. There is so much help out there. As an emergency room nurse in Boston, I heard the stories for years. I met the women, and sometimes men, saw children and became friends with some of them. I sat over coffee and cries, I held children and told all of them the same thing, just leave. This is the hardest part to convey to them. Every state has resources and let’s start with this one place, The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence NCADM. One of their hotline numbers is The National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-7233 (SAFE)
If you are being abused or know of someone who is, do not give up hope or helping. It’s our job, all of us. There is help for you.
Come in from the fog and rain, go to your nearest emergency room . . . just leave.
